Does Best Buy accept crypto?
No, Best Buy does not accept crypto directly. As of 30 October 2026, you can only spend crypto there indirectly. BitPay offers two routes: a Best Buy gift card, or Bill Pay for your card bill. Best Buy ships only to US addresses or stores. MSRP Crypto's check found 1 of 14 major retailers that takes crypto: Newegg.
Does Best Buy accept Bitcoin at checkout?
No. BitPay, a crypto payment processor, wrote in August 2022 that Best Buy does not directly accept Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency. We found no change as of 30 October 2026. BitPay sells the workarounds described below, so it has a commercial interest in the topic.
According to MSRP Crypto's check of 14 major retailers on 30 October 2026, only Newegg (via BitPay) accepts crypto at checkout. Ten do not, Best Buy included. Three could not be confirmed: B&H Photo, Microsoft/Xbox Store and Overstock/Beyond.

Can international buyers use Best Buy with crypto?
Not easily. Best Buy's help page says international customers must ship to an address or a store in the US. A gift card bought with crypto does not change that rule. You still need a US delivery address or a pickup in a US store.
If you have a US address, the gift card route works for anything Best Buy sells. If you do not, choose a store that ships to your country. Newegg lists 19 countries for BitPay payments, and MSRP Crypto ships to every country except 9 excluded ones.
What does BitPay's ID rule mean for a Best Buy purchase?
BitPay asks for a one-time identity check, called BitPay ID, in three cases. Its compliance page, updated 22 September 2025, lists purchases above $3,000, people who receive refunds or payouts, and VPN users.
Most phones and every console in our catalog cost less than $3,000. A PlayStation 5 Pro costs $899 at Sony's US list price. High-end Macs do not: the MacBook Pro 16-inch with PROLED XDR Display lists at $3,399. Refunds also trigger the check, so a return paid back through BitPay means sharing your ID.
When is Best Buy the better option?
Best Buy fits US buyers who want a large retailer and in-store pickup. It also sells TVs, appliances and many items that we do not carry. If that is you, the BitPay gift card route is a working choice.

How do you pay MSRP Crypto in crypto?

Shipping is free, and import duties and VAT are included, so nothing is collected at delivery. Unopened devices can be returned within 14 days, with a refund in USDT or USDC. Defects are covered by the manufacturer's warranty.
