Does Apple Pay accept crypto?

No, not as crypto. Apple Pay is a wallet for payment cards. A third-party crypto debit card can sit in Apple Wallet, and the shop receives a normal card payment. Two examples:

  • Coinbase Card has worked with Apple Pay and Google Pay since 1 June 2021, in the US at launch.
  • BitPay Prepaid Mastercard added Apple Pay for US cardholders on 12 February 2021. BitPay closed the program in June 2023, after Metropolitan Commercial Bank left it.

These cards check your identity. For example, the Starter tier of the Bitrefill Card asks for an ID document and a selfie check.

Can you use an Apple Card to buy crypto?

No. The 2019 Apple Card customer agreement puts crypto purchases in the cash advance and cash equivalents category, which the card does not allow. The Block and PYMNTS reported this rule at launch.

The card is changing issuer. In January 2026, JPMorgan Chase announced that it will take over the Apple Card from Goldman Sachs, over about 24 months. Mastercard stays the network. As of 30 October 2026, we found no change to the crypto rule under Chase.

Can you buy an Apple gift card with crypto?

Yes, but it only helps inside the US. Bitrefill sells the Apple Gift Card USA from $10 to $500 per card, for Bitcoin, Lightning, Ether, USDT, USDC, Litecoin and other coins. Three limits apply:

  • Bitrefill says the card only works with Apple accounts and Apple Stores in the USA.
  • Apple's US online store only ships to US addresses.
  • Without a Bitrefill account, you can spend $500 a day and $1,000 a month. Above that, Bitrefill asks for an ID, a proof of address and a selfie.

An iPhone 18 Pro at $1,199 is above that monthly limit. Our gift card vs buying direct comparison works through the numbers.

When is buying from Apple the better choice?

If you live in the US and can pay by card, buy from Apple. Apple charges the same US list price that we charge. Apple also sells the iPhone 17 for $30 less when you activate it with AT&T, T-Mobile or Verizon. We sell the unlocked iPhone 17 at $929, the price Apple charges when you connect a carrier later.

If you live in the US and want to spend crypto, a Bitrefill gift card or a crypto card in Apple Pay works. Both check your ID above their limits.

If you live outside the US, these routes fail. The US gift card works only with US accounts, and Apple's US store ships only to US addresses. That is the case MSRP Crypto is built for.

How does MSRP Crypto sell Apple products for crypto?

MSRP Crypto sells new, factory-sealed Apple, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo products at the manufacturer's US list price (MSRP), paid in crypto, with free worldwide shipping and import duties included. We are an independent store, not affiliated with Apple, Sony, Microsoft or Nintendo. ProxyGoat LLC, a Delaware limited liability company (USA), runs the store.

We check the payment on the blockchain, then order your device and email the tracking number.

We ask for an email and a shipping address, with no ID and no account. One warranty point matters: Apple may limit iPhone and iPad warranty service to the country of original sale, the US. Apple's Mac warranty has no such explicit limit. Read is the Apple warranty valid worldwide?
