Do you need an iPhone for the Apple Watch Ultra 4?
Yes. Apple Watch is set up and paired with an iPhone; it does not work with an Android phone. Keep your iPhone up to date before you pair the Apple Watch Ultra 4.
Does the US Apple Watch Ultra 4 work outside the US?
Yes, with your iPhone. A GPS model works in any country where your paired iPhone works. A GPS + Cellular model needs a carrier in your country that supports Apple Watch for its cellular service. Without one, it works through your iPhone like a GPS model.
For a defect, contact Apple support in your country: service depends on the options Apple offers where you ask. Read Is the Apple warranty valid worldwide?
